La prochaine séance du Colloquium du laboratoire Dieudonné aura lieu le lundi 25 février à 14:30 en salle de conférences. Elle sera suivie d'une pause-café en l'espace détente. Notre conférencier sera :

'Hawking radiation from rotating acoustic black holes'.

Un résumé est le suivant.

Black holes are the regions in the space such that the disturbances or particles can not escape out. Main examples of black holes are the black holes of general relativity when the metric of associated wave operator satisfies the Einstein's equation and analogue black holes when the corresponding wave operator describes the wave propagation in a moving medium.
We shall study the black holes for the acoustic waves in a rotating fuid.
It was discovered by S. Hawking that in a striking contrast to the classical black holes the quantum black holes emit particles. This phenomenon is called the Hawking radiation. In the talk the Hawking radiation from the rotating acoustic blackhole will be described. No knowledge of black holes and quantum field theory will be assumed. I will try to make the talk accessible to a non-specialist.
